Neil has been involved in training dogs for over 25yrs and has a depth and breadth of experience and knowledge in canine training and behaviour. An ex-military officer; he has worked extensively with service dogs in the fields of specialist search, rescue, and explosive detection. He holds several instructor and coaching qualifications and also holds a Fellowship in the Chartered Management Institute. He is also a lifelong dog owner (Rhodesian Ridgebacks) and enjoys relating with, and training breeds with stronger and greater independent natures.

Neil specialises in canine psychology and believes each owner can benefit from understanding the nature of why dogs act or react to differing human connections and emotions. His training business is aptly named “Talk Dog” as he works with the owners to help them develop their communication skills with their dogs in order to gain a greater understanding and a deeper and more fulfilling relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and loyalty. He is a firm advocate for offering dogs a choice and building positive connections to positive choices at the same time as building effective leadership skills so owners can have a more natural, meaningful, and harmonious relationship with their animals.

Neil believes dogs and owners have their own unique bond and relationship and which can often require different training approaches, so in addition to 1 to 1 training classes he also specialises in Boarding dogs within his own home (on an exclusive basis for clients) and helping their dogs integrate into his own pack to assist with their training and behaviour rehabilitation.
