I offer a friendly, reliable and honest service tailoring it to your individual needs. I am a retired Police officer with 4 young children so no challenge is too great! Having come from a farming family background owning pet, working and gun dogs has always been a way of life for me and one I treasure so having had the opportunity to work as a Police dog Handler from 2003 and then qualify in 2017 as a NPCC Dog Instructor and undertake the role as the Police Dog Instructor was my perfect job, going to work with police dog’s who live with you and become part of your family whilst working and in retirement, never felt that I was working for a living and have provided memories that I will treasure.

During my time as a dog handler I was routinely deployed to deal with all manner of incidents with my Police dogs, extending from the handling the basic General Purpose Police Dog to firearms support dogs and an explosive search springer spaniel, these areas provided me with extensive experience in working differing styles and breeds of dogs whilst in my role as a handler and provided me the grounding for my Instructor role, in addition I also qualified as a dangerous dog legislation officer which required me to visit and examine numerous dogs of differing breeds and displaying varying behaviours. My role as Instructor afforded me the opportunity to run initial, advanced and refresher courses for new and experienced handlers with various breeds of dogs from a variety of backgrounds, including specialist search dogs.

I gained a city and guilds teaching qualification allowing me to adapt my training to the needs of those involved, from children to adults. Certainly my 4 children’s favourite role has been selection and development of puppies bringing them home at 8 weeks of age and training them until they are ready to licence and be handled as police dogs. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals in having the perfect dog for your lifestyle.
