Steve has over 30 years’ experience in both training and working with dogs and is an accredited police dog instructor and owner of K9 Pal Dog Training Ltd. During Steve police career he spent 27years on the dog section firstly as a dog handler, then as an instructor and the last 12years his service as the Chief Instructor Dog Training, overseeing all dog training for one of the largest police dog sections in the UK. Steve is also a court accepted expert witness for, dog training, police dog training and deployment of police dogs, identification of dangerous dogs and dogs dangerously out of control.

Steve knows that no 2 dogs are the same and has the understanding, knowledge expertise and experience in a wide variety of training methods and techniques to achieve the very best from your puppy or dog whatever their age.
Steve knows that to get the best results, training needs to be fun, progressive, and rewarding for both the dog and handler and ensures all training meet these needs.

Steve has a sound background in puppy training and development (having brought on puppies who have gone on to successfully undertake and pass police dog training in a variety of roles) as well as adult dog training.
Steve knows how important it is when deciding on getting a dog that you get a breed that is right for you, your family, and the lifestyle you lead and he can assist all prospective new dog owners on deciding, sourcing and choosing and the right breed and puppy or dog for you and family.

Steve is a keen supporter of positive reward-based training and reward based self-training. He understands that for you to bring the best out of your puppy or dog you need to be considerate, patient, and consistent in training.
Puppy training can be on a 1 to 1 basis or carried out in group sessions covering everything from house training to puppy obedience, recall training, fun agility, and tailored training to alleviate unwanted behaviours.
Adult dog training can be on a 1 to 1 basis or carried out in group sessions covering basic to advance obedience training, agility training, recall training and tailored training to alleviate unwanted behaviours.
Any training given will be tailored to both you and your dog to provide an enjoyable fun filled experience whilst achieving the results you want.

With Steve’s background and qualifications, he is also able to provide 1st class service dog training in a variety of different disciplines such as Protection dogs, General Purpose Security Dogs both Drugs Search and Person Scanning Dogs, Explosive Search and Person Scanning Dogs and NCTAS P explosive detection dogs.
