Cherene Hill

In August 2022, Cherene made the decision to rehome Heidi, a Long-Haired Chihuahua cross. Welcoming Heidi into her home has been one of the most rewarding choices Cherene has ever made. She created a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which Heidi feels secure and able to flourish. The strong, loving bond they share has provided Cherene with immense personal fulfilment.

Heidi was a lockdown puppy and exhibited significant fear around other dogs and people. After bringing Heidi into her home, Cherene devoted considerable time into helping Heidi build confidence through careful socialisation, a consistent daily routine, and a balanced, nutritious diet. Cherene uses praise and positive reinforcement to support Heidi's emotional development and encourage a sense of trust and curiosity.Witnessing the transformation in Heidi’s behaviour and wellbeing has been deeply inspiring, and motivated Cherene to want to share this experience and its impact with others.

Cherene set up her dog walking and pet care services company Wholesome Walks in June 2024. She completed Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour & Training courses 'Pet Home Sitting & Dog Walking Skills' and 'Understanding Canine Care & Behaviour' in 2024. Cherene is currently a Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour & Training student on their Fast Track Mentor Programme to become a competent Clinical Canine Behaviour Practitioner & Trainer. She has already successfully achieved the Advanced Higher Certificate in Dog Behaviour & Training (Professional Practice) part of the Mentor Programme. Cherene has a keen interest in dog behaviour problems, especially fear based, and this is her main focus.
