Christina Di Masi

Christina was born in New York in the United States. She moved with her family to Scotland when she was around 12 years old where she has been a resident since. Her earliest exposure to dogs was living with various family dogs as a child as well as her parents protection dogs used in the family business. This childhood experience fired her interest in dogs for life.
In the UK at the age of 13 -14, she found herself walking dogs in the neighbourhood. When the owner of one of these dogs passed away, Christina found she had been bequeathed the dog in the owner’s Will and this became the first dog Christina owned - Terry, a Lurcher, who lived to the age of 15.

Throughout her life she has owned an array of rescue mixed breeds, and pure breeds. This had proved extremely rewarding, observing dogs recover when they receive individualised care, training and structure in their lives.

Following her time as a Health Professional in the NHS, she decided to give her energy and commitment to helping dogs in a professional capacity and began studying the subject in detail. Christina has studied canine behaviour through the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training and has achieved a level 6 Diploma in Applied Canine Behaviour Management. She has also completed varies other certificated courses through the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training. She is an associate member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association.

Christina now works full time with dogs as a canine behaviourist and trainer and provides a grooming service for dogs that are referred to her from local grooming businesses with aggression type behaviours during grooming. She is a practical hands on trainer that enjoys teaching and working with clients and their dogs. She provides one to one behavioural consultations and training at clients homes or small group training class at her home. Christina’s training classes focus on providing knowledge, handling skills and realistic obedience exercises that promote responsible dog ownership and lifelong skills for owners and dogs.

Christina focuses on relationship building, helping owners to understand their dog as a species, how to communicate and read the body language of the dog and the importance of advocating for their dog. She educates owners on the natural behaviours of dogs, the natural dog drives, breed specific drives, genetics, personality, allowing clients to understand what their dog might be thinking and feeling. She is skilled at coaching owners to gain confidence and motivation to reach realistic goals and attain a liveable and enjoyable relationship with their pet that improves everyone’s lifestyle including the dog.

Christina currently shares her home with 4 canine friends - Malone the Pug, Greta the German Wire Haired Pointer, Zara the Labrador and Petra the Rottweiler.
