Emma Newth-West
Emma believes that all dog training starts at home. Through at-home consults, ongoing advice, practical sessions in real-life settings, online support and group classes, Emma supports owners in establishing a strong foundation for an appropriate relationship with their dog, resulting in a consistent and meaningful partnership.
Emma has over 20 years experience handling, training, breeding and caring for dogs - and over 10 years in supporting dog owners with their own journeys. Emma offers a trauma-informed approach, with intent to help unlock dog owners' confidence and resilience in helping their dogs work through things - as a team.
Emma - founder and head trainer at Priestlands Dogs - offers 1-2-1 training sessions, behavioural consultations, bootcamp training sessions (where she does some of the work for the owners!), prey drive and livestock worrying rehabilitation, group classes for dogs of all ages, fun gundog classes, online coaching for dog owners and animal reiki for dogs and horses. Priestlands Dogs also offers dog-safe field hire on the beautiful Penn House Estate, Penn Street, Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
Emma offers training sessions, both for individuals and groups, in a variety of locations - including the dog-safe field, but also in popular walking locations, rural and urban settings - with intent to equip owners with real-life transferable skills - to open up their dogs world and invite them into their owners lives as much as possible.
Emma offers behavioural consultations online, or from your own home - followed by detailed written reports, to ensure owners can follow through with changes needed to make the best steps forward for all involved.
Emma works with a variety of breeds, including working and high-drive breeds, and loves forming bespoke plans and advice, to troubleshoot and advise on common dog issues.
