Erik Prins
Erik has been working with dogs for several years. He first got involved with a Greyhound re-homing Charity seven years ago, which sparked his interest in dog behaviour. He has fostered many Greyhounds to help them settle in a home, remove unwanted behaviour and provide palliative care.
Erik is a volunteer instructor at a Kennel Club registered dog training club. Here he helps teach owners in small groups how to train their dogs. He caries out 1-2-1 support for those dogs who have more challenging behaviours.
Apart from a psychology degree, he has continued his learning about dog psychology through the Cambridge Institute of Dog training and behaviour. He has now embarked on a degree course, Advanced Diploma Applied Animal Behaviour, to fulfil his ambition to become a certified clinical animal behaviourist.
Erik provides 1-2-1 dog training and dog behaviour first aid, which includes the following:
- behavioural help with (rescue) dogs
- catch unwanted behaviour before it becomes a major issue
- guidance about getting a dog.
He also provides services for correcting unwanted behaviour. He uses positive reinforcement as his training and counter-conditioning strategies.
