Gary setup Muttley Solutions to provide dog owners the opportunity of accessing one to one dog training which wasn't cost prohibitive. Many dogs require training, but don't do so well when around other dogs so Gary is able to focus on the needs of the single dog. Some owners don’t have the time to go to more formalised group training classes, Muttley Solutions offers puppy and older dog training at a time and place to suit the client.

Every dog is an individual so the training will be bespoke to the breed and age of the dog. First and foremost it will be fun and play to the strengths of the dog. Many of Gary’s clients are working dogs breeds so he can use his experience of Gun Dog Training to motivate the dog so improving learning. A number of owners when exposed to this training have then gone onto more formalised Gun Dog Training.

Gary uses the latest training techniques which reward desired behaviours as they happen and re-focuses unwanted behaviours though kindness, but never with techniques which cause stress or pain to the dog. The dog is given choices and scenarios set so the dog can make the right choice and have fun whilst doing it. After all the best learning is that which is made by making mistakes and learning from them.

Muttley Solutions offers individual basic puppy training and socialisation skills which can include toilet training and getting it right from the start with loose lead walking and recall. Gary will work with older dogs where years of bad habits need to be undone. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing an owner realise they can actually communicate with their dog and watch them work together to achieve their goal.
