Philip Alain
Philip Alain is an Advanced Canine Behaviourist Practitioner & Master Professional Dog Trainer Instructor, and the founder of Clare Dog Training Ireland, delivering a nationwide, all-Ireland in-home dog training & behaviour service.
With over 30 years of hands-on experience within the K9 training industry, including specialist & advanced behavioural work, Philip works with dogs across all breeds, ages & backgrounds — from early puppy development through to complex behavioural rehabilitation cases.
His work focuses on resolving real-world behavioural issues, including reactivity, anxiety, aggression, poor engagement & lack of structure, by addressing root causes rather than surface-level symptoms.
The core of Philip’s work is canine behavioural modification, puppy raising & early development. He works directly with dogs presenting established or developing behavioural issues, implementing structured programmes to restore clarity, stability & control within both the home & external environments.
Alongside this, he provides a complete, structured system for puppy raising & early development, building correct foundations through boundaries, engagement, environmental exposure & emotional regulation from the outset.
Every programme is guided by a clear understanding of breed-specific traits, inherited tendencies & individual canine genetics — whether working with terriers, shepherds, retrievers or any other breed — ensuring each dog is worked in alignment with its natural drives, behaviour patterns & processing.
Puppies are guided to correctly navigate both the home & outside world, developing confidence, clarity & the ability to self-regulate, significantly reducing the likelihood of behavioural issues during adolescence & adulthood.
Through Clare Dog Training Ireland, all services are delivered on a one-to-one basis within the home environment, allowing for a fully personalised & practical approach.
Each session is structured, comprehensive & tailored to the individual dog, its genetics, behavioural profile, household dynamics & lifestyle, with a focus on clear communication, correct handling & long-term results.
Philip’s work is centred on education, structure & prevention, supporting dog owners nationwide in developing calm, balanced & well-adjusted dogs.
Clare Dog Training Ireland operates as a fully nationwide, all-Ireland service, travelling to every county & calling directly to your home.
Philip works as a clear, practical mediator between you & your dog, helping you to understand your dog’s psychological & environmental needs, while guiding the dog to correctly navigate the structure of living within a home environment.
This includes addressing the common imbalance where freedom is often misunderstood as a lack of boundaries, leading to confusion, instability & behavioural issues.
Through clear structure, communication & implementation, both dog & owner gain consistency, clarity & control within the home.
All services are delivered through comprehensive, non-hurried in-home visits, typically lasting three to four hours, allowing sufficient time to fully assess, implement & demonstrate real change within the environment.
Whether working on puppy raising & early development, structured canine training, behavioural modification or rescue dog rehabilitation, Philip remains on-site until clear progress & proof of understanding are established.
Each programme is entirely personalised, tailored to the individual dog’s genetics, breed traits, behavioural profile & the specific household environment — including families with young children, multi-dog homes, working professionals, seniors or homes with regular visitors.
Lifetime support is included as standard across all services, with a commitment to ongoing guidance — never giving up on you, your dog or your puppy, ensuring long-term clarity, structure and success.
