Sara is the Rescue Centre Manager of the Chilterns Dog Rescue Society. Having worked and trained with rescue dogs for more than thirty years, Sara is well qualified to advise owners planning to take on a new dog from any source as well as supporting them during the crucial introductory period.

Sara also works with owners and their dogs on a one to one basis to address a wide variety of training or behavioural concerns. Sara is a qualified teacher, a Member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association and Rescue Consultant for the Pet Education Training and Behaviour Council.

COVID UPDATE:
The Rescue Centre is currently closed to visitors and adopters and we have been able to get most of the dogs into experienced foster homes once again. This is allowing a small team to deal with the emergencies as they arise, mostly Covid related situations where someone has become ill or died, so quite a few older dogs. We are also taking in other dogs at risk as we hear of them and these are largely puppies acquired during the first lock-down where things aren't working out for one reason or another. Although we were expecting a sharp upturn in numbers when people were unfurloughed or were affected socially or economically by the pandemic, the new restrictions mean this is yet to happen although we anticipate a busy Christmas and new year.
