Sharon has been training and successfully competing in various dog sports for over 28 years. As a full member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers, a Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Assessor and running a Dog Training Centre in Frome, Somerset, she is both experienced and confident working with all breeds from general pet or sports dog training to complex behaviour work, specialising in understanding and rehabilitating reactivity.

When Sharon is not at work you will find her training my own dogs, she currently shares her life with German and Dutch Shepherds but has previously owned Terriers and the GSP.

German Shepherds are particularly special to Sharon, having owned, bred, and competed with them for many years. She also held the privilege of representing the breed on the GSD stand at both Crufts and Discover Dogs on behalf of the Kennel Club.

Over the years Sharon has trained in a wide variety of dog sports and activities including Obedience, Agility, Working Trials, Canicross, Breed showing, Water Rescue, Scentwork and Protection sports. She has competed at a high level in many sports including European level in Canicross. In addition to training in these Sports she has taken an active role in organising many events and have served time on various committees, she also has trained with the Canine Film Academy learning all the tricks of the trade for teaching dogs for film & TV work.

The combination of experience and technical knowledge allows Sharon to consider all aspects affecting both training and behaviour, selecting the most appropriate methodology for you and your dog. She takes a realistic approach to establish clear communication, so training is successful and enjoyable for both ends of the lead. She always looks at training the dog in front of us and understands about working with genetics and will tweak work to suit both you and your chosen breed of dog. She won’t waste your time on ineffectual activity!
